Introducing the Pentax K-x SLR Camera with the included 35mm Film Lens (Model Number: 8362745), a versatile and feature-rich combination that caters to both film and digital photography enthusiasts.
The Pentax K-x is a mid-range DSLR camera that boasts an impressive 14.6 Megapixel CMOS image sensor. This high-resolution sensor permits the capture of intricately detailed and vibrant images, making it an excellent choice for various photography genres, from landscapes and portraits to action and wildlife.
The camera's advanced SAFOX IXi autofocus system ensures sharp and accurate focus, even in challenging lighting conditions. It includes 11 autofocus points, seven of which are cross-type sensors, that cover a large portion of the frame for greater focusing flexibility.
The Pentax K-x is known for its robust build and weather-sealed design, ensuring it can withstand harsh environmental conditions, making it an ideal companion for outdoor photographers. Additionally, the camera features a high-resolution 3.0-inch LCD monitor for easy image composition and review.
Now, let's discuss the 35mm Film Lens, a versatile prime lens with a focal length of 35mm (equivalent to 53mm in 35mm format) and a maximum aperture of f/2.0. This lens offers a bright and fast aperture that is perfect for shooting in various lighting conditions and provides a natural perspective, making it an excellent lens for everyday photography.
The lens's construction includes high-quality optical elements, including seven elements in six groups, that minimize distortion and aberrations, ensuring the highest possible image quality. Furthermore, the lens features a manual focus ring that allows photographers to take full control over their composition and achieve the desired sharpness and depth of field.
In summary, the Pentax K-x SLR Camera with the 35mm Film Lens (Model Number: 8362745) is a versatile and powerful tool for photographers who appreciate the unique look and feel of film photography while still enjoying the benefits of modern digital technology. With its high-resolution sensor, advanced autofocus system, robust build, weather sealing, and the included 35mm prime lens this combination offers endless creative possibilities.
The Pentax KX 35mm Film SLR Camera with the included 35mm SMC Pentax-M lens (model number 8362745) is a classic piece of photography equipment that has both advantages and disadvantages. Here's a brief analysis of each:
Advantages:1. Manual Control: The Pentax KX is a fully manual camera, which means that you have complete control over the exposure settings, focusing, and composition of your images. This is particularly appealing to photographers who prefer the tactile experience of shooting film and want to have greater creative control.
2. Build Quality: The Pentax KX is built like a tank. Its all-metal body is sturdy, and the camera's controls are robust and well-designed. This makes the camera an excellent choice for photographers who want a reliable and durable piece of equipment.
3. Versatility: The Pentax KX is compatible with a wide range of interchangeable lenses, allowing you to experiment with different focal lengths and shooting styles. This is a significant advantage over compact point-and-shoot cameras that have fixed lenses.
4. Film Photography Experience: Shooting film with a manual camera like the Pentax KX offers a unique and rewarding experience. The process of loading film, winding the film advance, and making each exposure requires a level of patience and mindfulness that can lead to more intentional and thoughtful photography.
Disadvantages:1. Learning Curve: The Pentax KX is a manual camera, which means that it requires a greater learning curve than a point-and-shoot digital camera. You need to understand the basics of exposure, focusing, and composition to use the camera effectively. This may be daunting for some photographers, particularly those who are used to shooting digitally.
2. Film Costs: Film photography can be more expensive than digital photography, particularly if you shoot a lot or prefer high-quality film stocks. The cost of film, processing, and scanning can add up quickly.
3. No Autofocus: The Pentax KX is a manual focus camera, which means that you need to manually focus each shot. While this can be a creative advantage, it can also be time-consuming and challenging, particularly in low-light situations or when shooting moving subjects.
4. No Digital Preview: Since the Pentax KX is a film camera, you won't be able to see a digital preview of your images before you take the shot. This means that you'll need to rely on your understanding of exposure settings, composition, and focusing to get the shot right.
Conclusion:The Pentax KX 35mm Film SLR Camera with the included 35mm SMC Pentax-M lens is a high-quality piece of photography equipment that offers a unique and rewarding experience for photographers. Its sturdy build quality, manual controls, and compatibility with a wide range of interchangeable lenses make it an excellent choice for photographers who want to explore the world of film photography. However, the camera's learning curve, film costs, lack of autofocus, and inability to preview images digitally may be disadvantages for some photographers. Ultimately, the decision to buy the Pentax KX should be based on your personal shooting style, budget, and level of experience with manual film photography.
Recommendation:If you're a photographer looking for a high-quality manual film camera with a rich history and a loyal following, the Pentax KX is an excellent choice. Its sturdy build quality, manual controls, and compatibility with a wide range of interchangeable lenses make it a versatile and reliable piece of equipment. However, if you're new to film photography or prefer the convenience and cost-effectiveness of digital photography, you may want to consider a different option. In that case, I would recommend exploring entry-level digital SLR cameras or mirrorless cameras that offer manual shooting modes and a more forgiving learning curve. Ultimately, the best camera for you depends on your personal shooting style, budget, and level of experience.
Details:
Thanks!, bill, only one available as shown in the photos. Everything else I can test, including the film case back and winder seem to work fine. Includes strap. Fast shipping via USPS ground advantage.
Unfortunately, i'm not an expert on this camera platform, so I can't advise lenses, operation, etc. Nice vintage condition, seems to work fine throughout shutter range, video is set at one second. Full 30 day return if it doesn't work properly for you. I went through the shutter speeds and it seems fine, no mirror hesitation, etc.
However I don't have a lens to test with actual film.
